We're a creative audio production company in business for over 20 years. Some would say Sound Post is a recording studio, but we do much more than that. View the home page media player for samples of some of our work. Here's a listing & some details of what we do.
• Creative Audio Production - That's what we do. Visit the home page to view & hear some of our work.
• Audio Post-Production - That's an industry term for making the final project sound great. Many of our projects arrive here with no sound (or very little sound) at all. We'll cast & produce the narration (non-union & union talent), write & produce the music or draw from our extensive on-site music library, add and create sound effects, and then mix & deliver the final production. Audio post production is a balance of art, science, talent, & skill - and we love it.
• Sound For TV & Radio Advertising - Listen to your radio & watch your TV & you'll hear our work - locally & nationally. We work for advertising agencies, producers, writers, and directly with large & small companies.
• Sound For Film - "Sound is seventy-five percent of the film." - "Sound is six-fifths of a film ..." - "When you produce a film, make sure you invest in sound." -Just some of the quotes from film producers at the 2008 Waterfront Film Festival. At Sound Post we collaborate with many film producers - for indie features, documentaries, short films, & student films. Our work on these productions includes mixing, ADR (dialogue replacement), sound design, fixing problem location sound, editing dialogue, narration, foley ... the steps needed to make the film ‘sound like a movie.' • Original Music Composition - Sound Post is a creative environment with many creative tools for composing. For advertising, films, software titles, & recording artists. We draw on the talents of many composers, writers, and musicians from around the country - listen to some of our work on the home page.
• Mixing & Mastering, 5:1 Surround - We'll mix in stereo & also 5:1 surround.
• Voice Recording & Casting & ADR - We've an acoustically treated booth dedicated to recording voice overs - and they sound great. We'll also go on location to record with an extensive location recording kit. Voices recorded by Sound Post have been heard the world over in commercials, on the net, in business presentations, and in software titles. We've an online talent pool to help with casting and have many other demos from voice talent near and far to fill many needs. Narration, podcasts, radio & TV voice overs, books on tape for unsigned authors & publishing houses, and non-traditional media. We've recorded voices for CBS (Scott Weil), The Cartoon Network (Teen Aqua Hunger Force), NPR (National Public Radio), The PGA, Warner Brothers (actor Edward Herrmann for ‘The Gilmore Girls'), School Zone Publishing, Tantor Media (books on tape), Random House, The E! Network, MTV, VH1 & others.
• Sound Design - Great sound for high-impact messages - we've a large sound effects library networked to our ProTools workstations and have sample libraries for musical instruments and effects. For corporate films and trade shows, films and advertising.
• Location Recording - Our engineers go ‘on location' for recording interviews, films, location shoots, and sound effects & sound design. Shotgun mics & wireless lavaliers mics, smart slate, field mixers, and hard drive recorders are used.
• Translations - Sound Post has a network of professional and international voice talent - producing professional translations in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French (European & Canadian), Spanish, German, Portuguese, British, & many other languages. See our Translations page to learn more.
• ISDN & Source Connect - ISDN & the new technology called Source Connect let us connect to a world-wide network of professional voice talent.
• In-House SFX Libraries - Thousands of sound effects are stored on our network connected directly to our ProTools workstations. Need a crying baby? We've over 20 to choose from. Need a submarine klaxon? Car Crash? Cattle stampede? Dragon roar? Dinosaur? jets, planes, trains, cars, car doors, windows, engines, lawnmowers, explosions, guns, whispers, crowds, three Korean women at at well? We've got that - and much more.
• Recording Artists & Album Production - At Sound Post we work collaboratively with bands, singer-songwriters, musicians & writers to bring a song or album project to life. Be sure to check out some of the artists produced at Sound Post on the home page media player.
• Audio Restoration / Legal Services - Sometimes interviews & location shoots aren't recorded well. They're noisy, distorted, have and unwanted hum, or contain clicks & pops. By using equalization techniques, editing, & specialized audio restoration software we help to fix those problems for producers, film-makers, corporations, legal services, and individuals.
• Audio Restoration / Family Recordings & Heirlooms - So you have a favorite old album and want it transferred to CD? Or you've a family recording or wedding on a reel-to-reel or cassette tape, wire recorded, 78 rpm record. We have the machines on-hand to transfer all these old media to CD. We can also ‘clean up' these old recordings & often times the results are spectacular. Special rates apply to community & family recordings - we'll help, just give us a call.
