Tech Talk
Voice talent is recorded from sound-proofed and acoustically treated booths. Neumann and Sennheiser are the mics of choice. The voices recorded at Sound Post can be heard on air, in businesses, on the net, in films, in software, in video games, toys and instructional films ... all over the world.
Are you bringing your film, TV spot, or video project to Sound Post?
If so, both Sound Post studios synchronize to picture. Ideally the picture will arrive as a Quicktime file (encoded as described below) and there will be a corresponding OMF 2* file (for Avid and Final Cut editors). Clients have arrived with this data on DVD, CD, hard drive, iPod, and USB flash memory. The choice is up to you.

The flavor of QT video preferred is full-frame DV NTSC encoded including sound at 48kHz (16 or 24 bit - medium or low quality is OK) 30 fps (29.97 and 24/23.976 too) with audio reference track including countdown and two pop. There's nothing like hearing those 2-frame 1k tones beeping in phase to let us know that all's well in the world of synchronization.
