Sound Post & The Team

Stuart Poltrock - Director. Stuart has a background rich in film, music, audio production, and swimming.  A Michigan State University graduate he worked for seven years on the set and post production studios of Motion Picture Makers, Inc. creating diverse productions ranging from radio and tv, to corporate films, miniatures, motion simulator programming, soundtrack design, and music performance, production, and licensing.

From a musical family (a symphony pianist mom, an aunt who played for silent movies and with Roy Rogers & The Sons Of The Pioneers, and two rock & roll brothers), Stuart shifted his focus in 1994 to Sound Post.  Specializing in creative audio, translations, and music production, he delves into creative works with artists, musicians, filmmakers, actors, and writers.  A pianist, he also performs with an eclectic bunch of musicians and enjoys sailing, SCUBA, travel, and spending time with his wife, son, and daughter.

Jerri Puerner - Project Manager.  Ms. Puerner coordinates production for a wide range of top quality audio projects for TV, radio, film and more.  A former children’s film festival director and a consultant to the Spiritual Cinema Circle’s children’s DVD project, the Kids Cinema Circle (a Parenting Magazine “DVD of the Year” in 2007), she went on to produce nine episodes of the long running children’s story time television show “The Reading Train."  With her background in fine arts, production and business, she organizes creative projects with a keen eye and tames even the most complex endeavors.

Larry McKay - Head Engineer. Larry is a graduate of Full Sail University
and started his audio journey in Chicago.   He worked at Studio Chicago with
local and major recording artists (Anthrax, Believe You Me, Scotland Yard
Gospel Choir, etc.)  and at various studios around the country.   When he
isn't digging into Pro Tools you can find him teching musical equipment at
various festivals and venues around the mid-west for On Stage Services.
Other than reading the latest Tape-Op Magazine Larry enjoys playing
guitar, mandolin, and rooting for his beloved Cubs.

Ali McNamara – Assistant Engineer. Grand Valley State University Communications and Film/Video student Ali McNamara is Sound Post's assistant engineer.  A member of Sigma Kappa Sorority and the American Humanics Organization (a non-profit leadership alliance), she values her experience serving those in need. Combining a love of travel and impacting the lives of others, her recent spring-break was mission-filled on an Indian Reservation in Dupree, South Dakota.

Sean Wetherell - VP of Communications. Sean started out in the basement of Sound Post - literally. His first week on the job he was wiring underneath studio A.  Sean worked his way upstairs into the studio and then onto his position as Vice President of Communications.  At Sound Post Sean is affectionately known as 'the glue' and works virtually from North Carolina as he pursues his International MBA.  Working remotely from his ‘bat cave’ Sean is a communications specialist and produces translation sessions for clients.

Sound Post Origins: Started in 1984 as 'Pandemic Music' by symphony musicians Fred Baker and Bill Vits, and in 1989 acquiring Rick Vaida's 'Steele Productions,' this company has always been about professional music and sound design.  In 1994 Stuart Poltrock purchased the business and built the current studios in Grand Rapids, MI.  Sound Post has produced thousands of projects, big and small, and the voices & music produced here are heard worldwide.
